Book Review - Teen Dream Jobs - How to Find the Job You Really Want Now

I just finished reading "Dream adolescent employment: How to find a job you really want, go!" by Nora E. Coon. I must say that I was not too impressed with the book's content. As the title suggests, the book aims to help teens find jobs. The author provides information on finding a job, resume advice, how to dress for interviews and other tips for teens seeking work. The information is good, much of it, but is outdated.

This job search counseling seem more relevant to a job search in 1999 instead of 2009. She hardly affect the Internet and new job boards designed for youth and the wealth of resources available for teenagers seeking work. The reality is that all of the information presented in this book can be easily found on the Internet with a simple search on google. The author provides no new or cutting-edge techniques that are worth more money to the bifurcation.

What I did on the book, as is the evidence that it offers. There are a variety of self-assessment exercise to the reader to really think about what they like and dislike and what they are passionate about. There is also a questionnaire to help determine what career would be best suited to your personality. I actually took some of these games and I have to say that I found to be quite accurate.

In conclusion, I found the book that have some bright spots, but overall I felt the book did not provide enough information to justify the purchase.
